What to bring
SoftWave Therapy
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area. Avoid applying lotions, creams, or oils to the treatment site on the day of your session, as these can interfere with the therapy. Drink plenty of water before and after treatment to support metabolic waste removal and maximize effectiveness.
If possible, avoid anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs like Advil, Aleve, or Aspirin) before/after your session, as they can deplete glutathione pathways and hinder the body's natural healing response. Bring your ID, and be prepared to discuss your pain symptoms in detail. Arrive a few minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork.
CranioSacral Therapy Session
Wear loose, comfortable clothing—like yoga gear or sweatpants—that allows you to move and relax freely. You'll remain fully clothed throughout the session while lying supine or prone on a table. Since the work involves very light touch and deep relaxation, your body temperature may drop slightly, so bring a warm layer just in case.
Come prepared to discuss your health history, current symptoms, and what you hope to achieve. Bring water for hydration, and plan for a relaxed schedule following your appointment—avoid strenuous activity afterwards to give your body time to integrate the work.
Alexander Technique
“Recognize that unlearning is the highest form of learning.” -Rumi
Unlearning is at the heart of Alexander Technique lessons, which focuses on re-education around movement habits, tension patterns, and posture. The ability to think about your own thinking in real time (and how you move) is called metacognition. Somatic education and metacognition is incredibly therapeutic by increasing embodiment and agency. Embodied agency is why Alexander Technique can have longer lasting effects than a massage. With Alexander you’re learning to be more your own elegant mechanic and driver, whereas with massage you’re simply having your car tuned up.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. You may be asked to remove your shoes, so wear socks or shoes that slip on and off easily. If you have specific habits or activities you'd like to address—such as playing a musical instrument, using a laptop, or performing—bring those items so your teacher can observe you in action. It's also helpful to come prepared to discuss your goals, whether that's relieving chronic pain, improving posture, or enhancing performance, along with any relevant medical history or physical injuries.
